After Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against Nana Patekar, there has been an uproar in Bollywood. Many veteran actors came in support of Tanushree while some chose to remain silent on the matter. Recently, well-known film industry actress Renuka Shahane came out in support of Tanushree Dutta and openly wrote a post on social media, drawing people’s attention to some aspects of this case.Renuka Shahane wrote a long post on Facebook and openly supported Tanushree.
In her post, Renuka wrote – ‘Nana Patekar has a short temper. He is as well known for this behavior as he is for helping farmers. I have never worked with either Nana Patekar or Tanushree. Also, I have not been a part of the film ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’. There are some points in whatever Tanushree has said that I can relate to.’Renuka Shahane further wrote – ‘Tanushree had made it clear that she was feeling uncomfortable in one step of the song. It is possible that Nana Patekar’s thinking may not even be wrong, in such a case wasn’t it the duty of the director and choreographer to make the actress feel comfortable. Would the film have flopped badly if a dance step was changed? If a man’s daughter had been present there, would she have been treated the same way? This is the difference between being ‘like a daughter’ and being a ‘real daughter’.’
Renuka did not stop there, she further wrote – ‘Weren’t four such high-ranking men against one girl enough that some people from a political party attacked Tanushree’s car. Even her parents had to be intimidated. Was this not an overreaction to one incident? People from the political party want Tanushree to apologize to the ‘pride of Maharashtra’ for her behavior. Was Maharashtra made proud by doing such an act with a woman? If you look at the result, whose career was ruined? None of the men involved in this incident had to face a bad time. Ego won. Men got support from every industry. If this whole incident has affected anyone, it is Tanushree.’
