Mitte died Monday at 34. He was best known for his role in the Vince Gilligan-created drama “Breaking Bad,” in which he played Walter White Jr., the son of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Skyler White (Anna Gunn). Like his “Breaking Bad” character Walt Jr., Mitte had cerebral palsy.
The Brownsville Police Department received a call at 12:50 p.m. local time and found Mitte dead at his home, People reported. “The cause and manner of death are still pending, as there is currently an ongoing investigation,” the BPD said at the time.
Mitte appeared in all five seasons of the show, which ran from 2008 to 2013.“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” his rep said in a statement earlier Monday. “Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion.”
